Jakob Weise’s kirtan concerts offer a calm, meditative and acoustic sound, embracing genres from folk, indie and mantra-chanting with a touch of electronic elements. The listeners are carried home to the indwelling presence of peace. The concerts are a mix of both sanskrit mantras and songs in English, and Jakob is also not shy to incorporate his experience as a former pop-producer, breathing fresh air into the ever-evolving ‘World/Mantra-Music’ genre. Parallel to pop music, yoga and meditation have been an integral part of Jakob’s life. He has studied meditation, Indian philosophy, mantra music and traditional kirtan intensively with various teachers in India, USA and Denmark.
